Custom Image Domain

Using your own domain, rather than the default img.hyperise.io domain, has many benefits, such as branding, but also email deliverability.

We provide a simple three step process to get you going...

STEP ONE: Add your image sub-domain to your Hyperise account

Select 'Your Settings' from the account menu, then 'CNAME' from the settings menu.

Within the Custom Domain settings page select 'Assign New Domain'.

You're free to enter any sub-domain you prefer, we like using img. but this is just personal choice.

STEP TWO: Add the DNS records to your domain

Once you've entered the full sub-domain (eg img.example.com) click Next to detail the DNS additions required:

The Custom Domain Wizard will detail two new CNAME entries required, the first is required to map the path of the image URL.

Add the entry as below into the DNS management panel of your domain:

The second entry is used by Google to validate the domain and provide security validation.

We simply add the host validation and value as a CNAME into the DNS management panel of your domain.  (Add the entry using the values in your Hyperise settings panel, each domain will have unique values):

NB: Cloudflare users make sure to disable the proxied option for this to work.

If when you click Next you see a validation error, this means either your DNS records haven't been entered properly, or haven't had time to update and propagate (this can take up to 24 hours). 

NB: if you're still seeing this error after 24 hours, please contact support.

You're free to leave this page now, when you return to proceed with the verification, select the 'Continue with ....' button:

Once the domain DNS records have been verified the progress wizard will move to step three and begin assigning your images and mappings to the new image domain.

STEP THREE: Add the DNS records to your domain

Once you've completed step two, it's pretty much a waiting game, while our systems catchup with your domain changes.

The Custom Domain settings page will show the status as 'In Progress'.

Once completed you'll see a new notification...

...which will detail the domain which has been mapped.

Once mapped, the domain status will change to Active:

All image links will now be mapped to your custom domain:

That's it, the above three steps, and a little patients waiting for the DNS gods to do their thing, is all we need to get fly with our dynamic images.
