Website Segment and Personalization

Websites are generally at the centre of your sales funnel and central to generating sales, so it makes sense to apply personalisation and boost conversions.

The following guide details how to set up website segmentation and apply personalization to each segment, without coding, to your existing website, regardless of the website builder or CMS used!

Step One: Install the Chrome Extension

We've created a Chrome browser extension, that enables you to define profile segments, select any element on your web page and either insert personalisation tags, or if an image, replace with a Hyperise personalised image.

To get started first install the Chrome extension:

Step Two: Add the Hyperise Snippet to your website

The Hyperise Snippet is a Javascript asynchronous script, that will apply the segmentation and personalization to your website, for each visitor.

To access the snippet code, go to the Hyper-Campaign of your Hyperise account and copy the code.

Add the code to your website, between the <body> tags, or use Google Tag Manager to add using a Custom HTML tag type.

Step Three: Define website Segments

Once the Website personalization Chrome Extension is installed, it will appear in the browser toolbar.

Clicking this icon on the page you with to add segmentation and personalization too, this will load the personalization bar.

The default personalisation Segment will be used when no other Segments apply.

Create unlimited number of Segments, based on visitor data, enriched data and url parameters.

Once you've added personalization to a segment, you can re-order them, to set trigger preference for if more than one match.

Step Four: Add Personalization to each Segment

Select any element on the page, click one to select and again to edit the selected block.

Once in edit mode, the personalization selector will show, with personalization options of images or merge tags.

You can also change website copy per segment, as well as adding in merge tags.

To remove a personalization, hover over it in the selector and move the mouse to the right to reveal the delete icon.
